Compactando arquivos com o Winzip!

A principal finalidade de se compactar um arquivo está na redução do seu tamanho, muito embora essa redução seja muito grande quando se trata de imagens e vídeos. Outro recurso presente nos compactadores está na possibilidade de "dividirmos" um arquivo grande em partes menores no momento de fazer "UpLoad" e/ou "DownLoad".

Vamos imaginar que um arquivo de 700Mb está sendo baixado por você e quando estamos com 90% a transferência é interrompida por falta de energia ou um travamento qualquer no seu micro! Resultado? Você terá que baixar TUDO novamente, ou seja um tempo enorme perdido! Agora, se este arquivo fosse dividido em 3 partes (250Mb, 250Mb e 200Mb), neste caso você estaria baixando o último arquivo e perderia apenas o tempo de transferência desta última parte!

A seguir os procedimentos para realizar a divisão!
Tal procedimento poderá ser realizado para um único "ARQUIVO" ou para uma "PASTA" (com vários arquivos em seu interior). Para esta tarefa realizaremos uma compactação do "Arquivo" ou "Pasta" utilizando um programa bastante conhecido, o "WinZip"!

Nota: Após clicar no link para baixar, um contador será executado automaticamente, e quando zerar basta clicar na opção "Download Comum" (botão preto).

Sua instalação é bastante simples, após baixar em seu computador basta localizar e dar um duplo click no arquivo e confirmar as opções de intalação sugeridas!

Nota: Existem outros programas com os quais podemos realizar esta tarefa, entre eles outro bastante popular é o "WinRar". Vamos dar atenção ao "WinZip" devido a sua popularidade!

1º) Abra o "Windows Explorer" (não é o navegador), normalmente através do caminho: Botão "Iniciar" --> "Todos os programas" --> "Acessórios" --> "Windows Explorer" (ícone de uma pasta na cor amarela)

2º) Localize o "Arquivo" ou a "Pasta" a ser compactado e dividido

3º) Click com o botão "Direito" do mouse sobre o alvo (Arquivo ou Pasta).
Nota: Caso precise enviar diversas fotos por e-mail, é mais fácil colocá-las todas em uma pasta e "zipar" a pasta, assim basta anexar o "arquivo zipado" e não vários arquivos. Isso torna mais fácil a sua tarefa e a de quem receber o arquivo zipado.

Note que várias opções irão surgir, aponte o mouse para "WinZip" e no novo grupo de opções, aponte e click em "Add to Zip file...".

Caso surja em sua tela uma pequena janela com 3 botões, click no botão "Use Evalution Version" (isto pode ocorrer pq o WinZip não é um programa gratuíto).

4º) Na janela que surgirá, mantenha o endereço em "Add to archive:" e no canto inferior esquero procure a opção "Split Zip file", ao abrir a pequena caixa você encontrará tamanhos pré-definidos, note que tem uma opção "250MB (Sized for Zip 250)".
Como exemplo, se estivéssemos fazendo esta operação em um arquivo de 700MB teríamos como resultado 3 arquivos, sendo dois com 250MB e um terceiro com a diferença, algo em torno de 200MB.

Note: Existe uma opção chamada "Other Size" ao selecioná-la você mesmo poderá indicar o tamanho desejado para cada parte, por exemplo: Vamos imaginar que o "Arquivo" ou "Pasta" estivesse com um tamanho de [blue]4,5GB[/blue], poderíamos informar 400MB, como resultado teriamos 11 arquivos com 400MB e um arquivo final (o 12º) com aproximadamente 100MB!

5º) Bem, tão logo suas opções sejam definidas, click no botão "Add" localizado no canto superior direito da tela e aguarde que os seus arquivos sejam criados!

Obs:
* Quando o processo for realizado em um "ARQUIVO" os arquivos (partes) serão criados na mesma pasta de origem deste arquivo.
* Quando o processo for realizado em uma "PASTA" os arquivos (partes) serão criados no local onde esta pasta estiver, por exemplo:
C:/Elvis/Videos Se neste caso a pasta a ser "dividida" fosse "VIDEOS" os arquivos resultantes seriam criados dentro da pasta "ELVIS". Porém se o "Alvo" (pasta a ser dividida) fosse a própria pasta "ELVIS" os arquivos resultantes seriam criados na "Raiz" (root) ou seja, diretamente no C: (Winchester ou HD).

Pronto, agora basta escolher um servidor adequado e fazer o "UpLoad" ("Erguer" ou "Upar") como este processo é comumente chamado!

Prá finalizar:
Quem baixar estes arquivos (particionados) deverá deixá-los em um mesmo local (em uma pasta) e então executar o primeiro arquivo (com o ícone do "WinZip"), que as outras partes serão descompactadas automaticamente. Pronto! O seu arquivo ou pasta estará a sua disposição!

Notas:
*** Este processo pode ser realizado com qualquer tipo de arquivo.
*** Pode parecer complicado, mas não é, aqui eu procurei colocar TODOS os passos de forma minuciosa!

O processo realizado com o WinRar é muito parecido, não vejo necessidade de criar um passo-a-passo para ele.

A informática nem sempre é um campo de facilidades, fiquem à vontade para escrever caso tenham alguma dificuldade.

The main goal in compressing a file is in the reduction of its size, even though that reduction is quite large when photos and videos are concerned. Other resource available in the compressors is the possibility of “dividing” a big file into smaller parts in the moment you "UpLoad" and/or "DownLoad".

Let’s imagine that a 700MB file is being downloaded by you and when we are at 90%, the transfer is interrupted by lack of energy or other problem in your computer! You will have to download EVERYTHING again, i.e., quite a lot of time lost! Now, if this file was spliced into 3 parts (250MB, 250MB and 200MB), in this case you would be downloading the last file and would lose just the time of transference of this last part!

Next are the procedures on how to make that splice!
Such procedure can be performed into a sole "FILE" or into a "FOLDER" (with several files in it). To perform this task we will have to do a compressing of the "File" or "Folder" using a very well-known software, the "WinZip"!

In case you don’t yet have this software, I’ll leave you here a link in order to download the 7.0 version, which is enough:

Note: After clicking in the link to download, a counter will be automatically executed and when it’s in zero, you just have to click on the option “Common Download” (black button).

Its installation is quite simple. After downloading your compressor, you just need to double-click on the file and confirm the suggested installation options!

Note: There are other software with which we can perform this task, among them one which is also quite popular, “Winrar”. Let’s concentrate on "WinZip" due to its popularity!

1º) Open "Windows Explorer" (not the browser), usually through the path: "Start" button --> "All Programs" --> "Acessories" --> "Windows Explorer" (icon of a folder in yellow color)

2º) Search the “File” or “Folder” to be compressed and spliced

3º) Click with the “Right” button of your mouse over the target (File or Folder).
Note: In case you need to send several photos by e-mail, it is easier to put them all together in a folder and “zip” it. Therefore, you just need to attach the “zipped file” and not several files. This makes both your task easier and the receiver’s.

Please note that several options will appear. Point your mouse to "WinZip" and in the new group of options, point and click in "Add to Zip file...".

In case a small window in your screen appears, with 3 buttons, click on the button "Use Evalution Version" (this might occur because Winzip is not a free software).

4º) In the window that will appear, keep the address in "Add to archive:" and in the inferior left corner search for the option "Split Zip file". When you open the small box you will find pre-defined sizes. Note that there is an option of "250MB (Sized for Zip 250)".

For instance, if we would be making an operation over a 700MB file, we would have as a result 3 files, two with 250MB and a third with the remainder, something around 200MB.

Note: There is an option called "Other Size" that when is selected, you can indicate the desired size for each part, for example:
Let’s imagine that the “File” or “Folder” had a size of [blue]4,5GB[/blue], we could inform 400MB and, as a result, we would have 11 files with 400MB and a final file (the 12th) with approximately 100MB!

5º) Well, as soon as your options are defined, click on the button "Add", which is in the superior right corner of your screen and wait for your files to be created!

Obs:
* When the process is performed in a "FILE" the files (parts) will be created in the same origin folder of this file.
* When the process is performed in a "FOLDER" the files (parts) will be created on the same place where this folder is, for instance:
C:/Elvis/Videos If in this case the folder to be “spliced” was "VIDEOS" the resulting files would be created inside the folder "ELVIS". However, if the “Target” (folder to be spliced) would be the folder "ELVIS" itself, the resulting files would be created at "Root", i.e., directly at C: (Winchester or HD).

So there, now you just need to chose an adequate server and "UpLoad", as this process is commonly called!

Final note:
Whomever downloads these files (spliced), will have to leave them in the same location (in one folder) and then execute the first file (with the icon of “WinZip”), that the other parts will be automatically unzipped. And that’s it! Your file or folder will be at your disposal!

Notes:
*** This process can be performed with any file type.
*** It may look complicated, but it’s not. In here I’ve tried to put ALL steps in a detailed way!

The performed process with WinRar is quite similar and I don’t find it necessary to created a step-by-step procedure for it.

Informatic techonologies aren’t always an easy thing to do, so feel free to write in case you find it hard to accomplish.
