Entendendo o formato AVI?

Quando "Ripamos" (copiar para o computador) um DVD o resultado é uma série de arquivos em separados com tamanhos distintos, sendo que cada arquivo se responsabiliza por funções específicas de um DVD, como: Menus, Extras, idiomas, legendas e o próprio filme. Normalmente a soma de todos esses arquivos fica por volta de 4,5GB (Giga Bytes), um tamanho bastante grande.

Vantagens: Se fizermos "UpLoads" desses arquivos quem baixar poderá montar (gravar com um programa específico) o tal DVD novamente, com todas as características e funções do original, com suas opções de menus, idiomas, extras, legendas, etc... Sem nenhuma perda de qualidade!

Importante: Quem estiver interessado, em baixar e re-montar um DVD nessas condições terá que ter em seu computador um "Gravador de DVD's" o que hoje é bastante comum, e já não custa tão caro!

Porque converter em AVI?
Com o objetivo de facilitar a tarefa de "DownLoad" uma alternativa interessante, é pegar apenas o arquivo principal (o FILME) do DVD e com a utilização de um software específico converter e comprimir (reduzir seu tamanho).

Vantagens: O tempo de "DownLoad" reduz consideravelmente, pois o arquivo tem o seu tamanho bastante reduzido (comprimido).

Desvantagens: Muito mais trabalho para quem faz esta conversão, pois estima-se que toda esta conversão mais o tempo de "UpLoad" fiquem em torno de 10 horas, levando-se em consideração a potência de processamento do computador e a velocidade da conexão com a internet.

A pior desvantagem:
Quem baixa não não terá as opções do original como: legendas, idiomas, extras e etc... Além do que a qualidade de imagem cai bastante, sem contar que em alguns casos ocorrem aqueles terríveis problemas de falta de sincronia entre imagem e áudio (vc vê o movimento labial e o som aparece atrasado).

Disadvantages: The time for downloading will be much higher, since the files are also quite bigger. Why convert into AVI?
With the goal of simplifying the task of "DownLoad", a very interesting alternative is to take just the main file (the MOVIE) from the DVD and, using a specific software, converting and compressing/zipping it (reducing its size).

Advantages: The "DownLoading" time decreases considerably, since the file has its size quite reduced (compressed/zipped).

Disadvantages: Much more work involved for who is making this conversion, since it is estimated that all this conversion, plus the “UpLoad” time takes around 10 hours, taking into consideration the capacity of processing of the computer and the speed of the Internet connection.

The worst disadvantage:
Whomever downloads will not have the options of the original, such as: subtitles, languages, extras, etc… Not to mention that the image quality decreases a lot, without counting with those times when terrible problems occur for lack of synchronicity between the image and the audio (you see the mouth movements, but the sound comes out delayed).
